In high school, she and three friends co-led a fundraising event that raised $90,000 to support arts education in public schools across the Greater Sacramento area. As Operations Chair, Maddy managed all event logistics, ensuring the night ran smoothly from start to finish. She also took on a creative leadership role, writing, directing, and casting a full theatrical production, which was performed twice that evening. Between the shows, guests attended a social extravaganza, furthering community engagement and donor support. This experience cemented her belief that the arts should be accessible, inclusive, and celebrated, a mission she has carried through every role since.
As part of her business studies, Maddy Grace Wood applied her knowledge to create Rounds & Grounds, a conceptual project that merges her passions for music and coffee. Designed as a café and record store hybrid, the idea featured a curated vinyl collection, themed beverages, and community events like album release parties and listening sessions. Through market research, financial projections, and strategic planning, Maddy developed a well-rounded business model that earned high marks, demonstrating her ability to turn creative ideas into structured, viable concepts.
